Mobile phone recycling in the UK could be boosted over the coming weeks as consumers look to ditch old models in favour of investing in the new Samsung Galaxy

Xcover. With many fixed term contracts coming to an end, there could be a flurry of handsets being ditched in favour for the new mobile phone.

The manufacturer has confirmed the launch of the handset, which boasts a strong and waterproof design.

People can rest assured that this hard-wearing device will be sturdy enough to overcome the majority of bumps, scratches and accidents.

Simon Stanford, managing director of mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland, explained: “We’ve designed the Samsung Galaxy Xcover especially for those consumers who need all the functionalities of a smartphone that can stand up to demanding lifestyles.”

He added that the phone offers a range of top communications features, which include Samsung’s own Social Hub that is designed to allow users to stay in touch with each other.

Samsung recently announced it had teamed up with Nvidia to release another smartphone – the Galaxy R.
